Chinese Inspired Plant Stands
Stained Oak with painted inlays
Size: 35 in. high with 7.5 in. across top edges
This pair of stands was an experimental work. My aim was to make a pair of traditional looking Chinese stands but to use a sharp square cut fret rather than the traditional curved cuts used in China. I emphasized the inside edges of the frets with a red paint.
Both Cherry, Hard Maple ,Thai Rosewood and Ebony
with Mahogany on top underside
Size: 15in x 15in x 35in high
The lattice design on the top of this stand is based on the design of a border from the town of Wuchang in the Ming period 1650 A.D.
